Our Family Farm
Our family has been
dairy farming in the Battenkill Valley region for more than a century.
Our great-great grandfather began milking cows just up the valley in
1902.
My grandfather moved the farm to its current location in 1945. We have
been farming the same land ever since. Our farm has steadily grown from
12 cows when my grandfather took over to our current size of around 350 cows.
Our herd consists of Holsteins, Jerseys and Holstein-Jersey crossbreeds.

In 2003, our family began considering the idea of bottling our own milk
right here on the farm. After extensive research, trips to several milk
bottling facilities in the Northeast, and long family discussions we
decided to move forward with the idea in late 2006.
In February of 2007 we began renovating our existing machine shed into
our creamery. We had a lot of work to do! We had to move out all our
equipment, pour new concrete floors, put up numerous new walls, and put
in a new electric system. Not to mention, install all of the processing
equipment we had acquired.
After a year of hard work, we are now bottling our own farm fresh
milk!!! Our first bottling day was February 15th, 2008. Everything went
smoothly and we bottled a total of 400 gallons of milk. Our products
the first day included Whole Milk, Reduced Fat Milk, Fat Free Milk, and
Chocolate Milk. We take pride in providing our customers with the
freshest milk possible. Our milk goes from our cows to our bottles in
less than eight hours.
